re leaseset expiry, make sure you're on the latest dev build. should be fixed.
dr|z3d
5 months, zzz? refresh your cache.
dr|z3d
(CTRL+SHIFT+R)
dr|z3d
latest post on the homepage is: Upcoming website changes by zzz-10 hours ago zzz
dr|z3d
Cache-Control
dr|z3d
immutable, max-age=31536000, stale-while-revalidate=31536000
dr|z3d
*** grins. ***
dr|z3d
the assumption, perhaps wrong, is that at the beginning of your browser session, your cache is cleared.
dr|z3d
I keep my cache off non-volatile storage and strictly in ram.
dr|z3d
iirc, librewolf configures that by default.
dr|z3d
re memory leak, cumlord, there's definitely something going on that causes more ram use than I'd like, but that's been poked, should be better.
dr|z3d
the issue seems to be proportional to the amount of ram allocated, and it caps out after a while.
dr|z3d
re librewolf, if you don't want mozilla telemetry, don't want pocket (if they haven't retired it yet), and prefer a browser that's been hardened for privacy/security, but you like firefox, librewolf is it. firefox profiles can be migrated.
dr|z3d
it's not waterfox or any other browser built on an ancient version of firefox, either. it's pretty much in sync with the latest firefox build, give or take a few days.
dr|z3d
re swap/vm, zzzot has always used a ton of that, and ram, because everything's held in ram.
dr|z3d
it's on the todo list to look at that, see if we can't store announces etc in a file so a) less ram and b) they persist when you restart the router/zzzot. the penalty shouldn't be much with file caching.
nyaa2pguy
the way i handle that in my tracker is a periodic save to disk every 5mins (1.8mb json file for ~2950 infohashes with 8-1 peers each)
dr|z3d
yeah, that's probably something similar to what I'll do. memory usage is "fine" with a couple of thousand torrents, but multiply that by 10 and it starts to eat a lot of ram.
dr|z3d
re dev builds, 652d000732 just uploaded.
dr|z3d
if you're using i2pchat, it's had some work done lately. you'll need to build it yourself for now.
dr|z3d
it now detects when your router is down if you're online, and will auto-reconnect when your router reappears.
dr|z3d
various other features.
dr|z3d
ok, 64MB piece sizes now supported in latest dev build and i2psnark standalone on skank.
zzz
re: mirror, shift-reload didn't help, very strange
zzz
re: zzzot, 0.20.0 last year reduced memory usage by 90+ %
dr|z3d
try CTRL+SHIFT+R, not shift+r.
dr|z3d
if you want to disable disk caching in firefox, browser.cache.disk.enable -> false.
dr|z3d
if you're on dialup, not advised :)
zzz
yeah control shift R. When you do that, the browser sends Cache-Control: no-cache. And I get back what I get, which is a X-Cache-Status: HIT
zzz
are you running some custom caching front-end?
dr|z3d
yeah, cache hit header is expected. but you should be seeing your latest post re upcoming website changes.
dr|z3d
if you're not, your browser cache is doing something funky.
zzz
nope, verified in inspector it's coming from you, not from my cache
dr|z3d
try giving your browser cache a good clean. and to be clear, you're seeing this on the index page?
zzz
yup zzzmirror.i2p
dr|z3d
strange, because I'd expect to see the same issue here, but I see current posts on all pages.
dr|z3d
nothing especially custom about the cache, either, standard nginx fare.
zzz
its not from my cache. it's loading. just tried eepget, got the same thing
zzz
you have some multihome you forgot about?
dr|z3d
I did, but I'm pretty sure I turned that off, but you might be onto something.
dr|z3d
startOnLoad=false on the multihome.
dr|z3d
let's remove the config entirely and restart the router. give it a couple of minutes (or restart your http proxy) you should reach the correct server.
dr|z3d
apt update

2025-10-28 [SIMP] prelimnary API for search is active, mirroring the same specs as tracker2.postman.i2p. No api key is needed.
zzz
** cumlord
zzz
this is real?
dr|z3d
?!!!
cumlord
yeah :) search alone is working, it's how convos.simp.i2p/file/1/P8raVs0SjYq7h6lj.jpeg is doing search on both, icons show which api the result came ferom
zzz
If you were willing to support it for the masses w/o an API key, I'd restart work on it in snark
zzz
I gave up because the js was janky and the API key reqm't made it pretty useless
cumlord
it's live now, figure i'll play it by ear and try to handle load with ratelimits
zzz
if we got that far, you'd probably want to put it on a different dest so you could manage it better
cumlord
i added 2 category extentions randomly, 100: Season Pack, 101: Episode
zzz
can you copy over postman's API doc and annotate it with what you support, or otherwise document it?
cumlord
yeah i can, those are the only changes i made
cumlord
otherwise if you do exactly the saem for search with postman minus the api key it should be the same
zzz
but I doubt you did the full boat
cumlord
if you dig in for snark search, think it could be possible to add in arbitrary indexers that way?
zzz
its hardcoded to postman now, kinda, but straightforward to make it configurable, I have that part half done
zzz
ok, the only endpoint I'm using is /api/torrents which is the search. If you could document which params you support and which fields you return, or don't, that would be ducky
cumlord
nice, thik that'd be handy
cumlord
yup will work on it i gotta look at it again anyway it's been a while
zzz
as we discussed way back when, if you slurped all of postman into your DB it would be even more handy
dr|z3d
the api requirement has been updated
dr|z3d
you can now supply a user/pass with postman's api.
dr|z3d
so there's that to consider.
dr|z3d
did you eventually get to a current zzzmirror index, zzz?
zzz
still no joy on the mirror, believe it or not
zzz
regardless of the problem, "immutable, max-age=31536000, stale-while-revalidate=31536000" is wrong because that tells the browser not to reload it for a year. ctrl-shift-r bypasses that, but still wrong
not_bob
zzz: A year may be good neough for many of the eepsites that never get updated. Stuck in time. :(
