RN I missed it?
RN :(
dr|z3d haha, shut up RN
dr|z3d *** laughs. ***
GoosePolice2386 What did I miss?
dr|z3d Post Quantum support in I2P+
GoosePolice2386 It wasn't post quantum proof before ?
dr|z3d All credit to zzz. Astounding work.
dr|z3d Requires the latest dev build to enable.
GoosePolice2386 I think in total so far I have routed ~700gb of data in i2p
snex > measuring your i2p data routed in G
GoosePolice2386 it's been a bit more than a week
Leopold_ dr|z3d: For some reason, when I click the stop button for one torrent (from the main page or the individual torrent page), instead of stopping the selected torrent, all torrents are stopped. i2psnark-standalone+ latest version
dr|z3d Leopold_: hmm, ok, thanks, will investigate.
dr|z3d ok, can reproduce, thanks for reporting.
Leopold_ I also noticed that the 30-60 second wait (I don't remember exactly) before notifying trackers before stopping has disappeared. Now, when I stop, a block of messages about 'java.net.SocketException: Socket closed' appears immediately in the terminal
dr|z3d ok, another thing to investigate. not sure where, but somewhere recently things must have got slightly janked.
Leopold_ And one more observation: I'm not sure, but it seems that with a large number of torrents (100+), it has started to heavily load the disk in terms of input/output operations
dr|z3d what makes you think that? are you running iotop there?
Leopold_ No, I haven't checked it with utilities; my file manager just opens directories with lag. I can't guess why, but at first everything is fine, and after an indefinite period, the freezes in the file manager start
dr|z3d ok, maybe run iotop in the background and see if you can identify any excessive disk usage. I'll investigate that also.
dr|z3d if it's logging related, I'll see if we can set the defaults to log almost nothing except errors.
dr|z3d of course, if 100s of errors are being spewed to the log file every second, then that also needs to be looked into.
Leopold_ No, my multimedia disk is separate from the disk from which I run snark, and it doesn't lag
Leopold_ I'll try to provide more information if I find out something
dr|z3d still, assuming linux, iotop's your tool.
snex are you just uploading/downloading a lot?
snex does it only happen when the web console is open? or always?
orignal qbittorrent gives 1 Mbs per peer
orignal so expect more transit
dr|z3d welcome to #saltr, f00b4r
f00b4r Hello, everyone
dr|z3d what's good, f00b4r?
f00b4r Not much. Chillin', scrolling p2p-related articles
dr|z3d very good. new to i2p?
f00b4r Kind of. I knew about it for a long time, even read irc discussions, but almost never participated in them (or any other i2p activity)
dr|z3d Now's a great time to come aboard. We're in the process of switching over to post-quantum crypto.
f00b4r What brought me here is bep_0051. I was curious about I2P DHT contents, so started reading related standards for both Mainline and I2P versions of DHT. I noticed that there's a standard in Mainline that allows to query nodes about infohashes, but no corresponding standard in i2p discussions. Since infohash indexing (without bep_0051) is basically a Sybil attack, which is bad for the
f00b4r network, I wanted to start a discussion about it
dr|z3d Anything relating to bitorrent beps, that's zzz's domain.
dr|z3d f00b4r: feel free to state your case for inclusion of bep_0051
