there's nothing pressing that requires an early release, and this dev cycle hasn't even started yet.

But I don't want to be the overriding stakeholder here, zzz participates in the release process, so does eche|on, and of course there is some extent to which we must coordinate with i2pd as well

sure, it's a consultative process. You state a possible date, and objections can be raised.
