eyedeekay: when you get the chance could you approve my git.idk.i2p account?
eyedeekay
mesh yeah what's the handle
eyedeekay
"Independent Power Providers?" did you maybe get the hostname on your email mixed up?
mesh
eyedeekay: do I really need an email?
mesh
eyedeekay: I just made up some stuff.
eyedeekay
No not really, just if you had used an email it would have issued you a confirmation to activate your own account
mesh
eyedeekay: you can just manually activate the account?
dr|z3d
get yourself an i2pmail account, mesh, or if you don't want that, use altaddress.i2p for a temp address in future, perhaps.
eyedeekay
Yeah I can, I'm activating it now, just pointing it out
eyedeekay
I honestly don't know what I would do without email notifications at this point
eyedeekay
Forced confirmation, you should be ready to go
mesh
I need to do more research to understand i2pmail and how it works. For now I don't like to use it not really understand it
eyedeekay
I sort of get it, but it's really just an email server with a tunnel pointed at it AFAICT so you can basically think of it as an email server that has less access to user metadata
eyedeekay
In most other ways it's just regular email, and nobody really "likes" regular email. They use it because it's universal and meets a business definition of "Convenient"
eyedeekay
So the rest of the shortcomings look pretty much the same and need to be fixed client side. You still need to use GPG, for example.
eyedeekay
Postman's got a pretty good page on client configuration, maybe a little dated but not bad
postman
eyedeekay: if this does not quench your thirst I am available for further questions on irc
zzz
it was mesh that had the questions
postman
see, my comprehension levels are peak performance today :)

Seeing this one quite regularly, zzz:
