dr|z3d is it spiking or persistent, cumlord?
cumlord seemed persistent, the routers I left it run until one started failing server tunnels load was >20
cumlord another that had no torrent clients was like cpu usage 3 times higher than normal
cumlord but maybe not expiring LS as frantically as last dev build, didn’t let it run too long though
cumlord I think previous dev build got like a 30% boost in torrent speed though with same cpu usage
dr|z3d 30% boost!
dr|z3d *** chuckles. ***
dr|z3d I'll look at the latest changes, see if there's anything that could be taxing the cpu too hard. I've increased threads for some sub-systems, maybe I've been a bit too generous.
dr|z3d The occasional spike every 12m is expected, as we now perform a background lookup for all introducer routerinfos, but that's normally fairly short-lived.
dr|z3d what build are you on (commit) ?
cumlord lol it was nice, was probably averaging around 250-300k/s per tunnel then
dr|z3d we'll get back to that, don't worry. I thought I was being more convervative in my recent updates, but obviously not enough :)
cumlord sounds good, looked to me like it was higher than normal then as soon as I fired up bigly or snark it just maxed cpu
cumlord damn I reverted all back to -5 might not have that info 😭
dr|z3d I really need to stop being sucked into the rabbit hole that is the I2P+ codebase. easy to spend days down there :)
dr|z3d nevermind, I'll look at recent changes, dial some stuff back down.
dr|z3d oh, the other thing to be aware of is the heavy next-hop lookups for transit tunnels at startup.. those calm down fairly quickly, but as mentioned before, they're there to weed out banned routers from our tunnels early.
cumlord ah might’ve missed that feel like it makes sense to wait a bit before doing stuff anyway
dr|z3d yeah, this is probably the hairiest development cycle on record for + :)
dr|z3d *hopefully* it'll be worth it. :|
cumlord I faith in the hair
cumlord it’s gonna be great for streaming
