radakayot: were you previously suggesting hexchat doesn't work with wayland?
radakayot
dr|z3d: it works, but systemd notifications are unstable for me, at least my build based on debian 12.
dr|z3d
radakayot: xfce?
radakayot
ah and also whenever zzz pm's me, he becames a ghost.
radakayot
no, cutom display manager with modified version of mutter.
dr|z3d
I've been using xfce for a few years now, but today it decided to disable my second screen in X11, and wayland on XFCE has a long way to go.
dr|z3d
so I'm using cinnamon right now, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised.
radakayot
yes, cinnamon is okay, but lacks of some features unfortunately. of course i wouldn't recommend vanilla gnome. especially if you have an nvidia card.
dr|z3d
haven't tried cinammon with wayland yet, it's flagged as experimental, but on X11 it seems more or less at feature parity with xfce, and it's just that bit more polished. though early days..
radakayot
i'm on wayland about 2 years. if you need any drivers for debian, let me know.
dr|z3d
not in any huge hurry to migrate over to wayland, but I'll see how it behaves later.
radakayot
wayland vs x is like i2p vs tor :)
radakayot
btw Xwayland works great since last year. i never had issues with any x apps.
radakayot
did you get my pm's last day dr|z3d?
dr|z3d
possibly not, if I never responded.
radakayot
at least last 2 of them.
radakayot
no you did not. just a moment, i'll resend them.
radakayot
so, for my question. where is DirtyHarry?
dr|z3d
out to lunch
dr|z3d
long lunch...
radakayot
really long lunch..
dr|z3d
:)
dr|z3d
he won't be a permanent fixture, sadly, on account of vram constraints.
