I came across a problem and need a helping hand. My vpn shuts down the internet. Is there maybe a checklist, that i can use for research on the error ?

I am using openvpn and networkmanager. And i have opened the recommended ports in the firewall settings

Yeah, i had some browsers open and all got stuck

that makes sense, most VPN configurations "fail closed" (IE: if the VPN can't connect, the connection dies)

No, i did not experiment on it. My PC got stuck due too much load - when i turn the fw off, it goes. So, i wonder, what could be it

Quaddle: if you have access to a VM with the same OS set up as a Guest system, might be ideal to begin testing your various VPN and FW combinations

Quaddle: I never said testing on your main system is a poor idea - assuming you keep copies of any and all known to work config files before you change them

fully updating your OS, rebooting and then only opening a few programs is always a good base from which to begin testing :D
