Hi all, I enjoyed reading zzz's article about PoW in Tor, zzz.i2p/topics/3624-tor-part-2-bananas-pow
stopMakinRefugees
Has there been discussions about it recently that I should read?
stopMakinRefugees
I think if we are serious about combating DoS we need to think about PoW for i2p. I don't know why but I thought i2p already had PoW.

zzz asked: "Is somebody really going to write a GPU hasher and integrate it with a modified Tor client?" I would say the browser space is insanely competitive and when a browser can claim they are "faster" and "more efficient" in ANY way they will shout it from all the rooftops.

PoW is bad for mobile devices.

And single board computers.

re: mobile devices no one is saying that it needs to be onerous. but it needs to be there, and all mobile devices are malware carriers so its self-correcting, also while moving across IP addressses its not the best idea to use I2P anyway. it'll just cause dropouts.
stopMakinRefugees
re single board computerrs, actors get to run rampant across the network because single board computers exist?
stopMakinRefugees
maybe if mobile devices were not all doing stuff behind our backs they would have the energy to do PoW.
