hi, is it possible to use sam to open a client tunnel to a predefined destination that is accessible on local ports of i2p-unaware application? i'd like to do this with some interface instead of having to input it manually into the webui interface or config.
zzz
no thirtyseven
zzz
I believe the i2ptunnel CLI will do what you want
zzz
java -jar i2ptunnel.jar -cli
thirtyseven
wow, thanks, didn't know about that tool, could come in handy, however if i someone was using something like i2pd then they are out of luck i guess and there is no other way to do it? also I wonder why is it done this way, is this because otherwise it could lead to creation of overwhelming amount of destinations?
RN
thirtyseven, would you like me to copy paste what eyedeekay said about it when we were not sure if you were still online?
RN
I'll send it in DM
zzz
you can use java i2ptunnel cli with i2pd as well, but you'd need the jars
RN
<eyedeekay> The short answer is "not everything is a perfect fit for SAMv3 apps by default. I2Ptunnel/tunnel managers in general reduce duplication of work and centralize the task of filtering harmful data
RN
that's the tldr imho
RN
thirtyseven, sent you the snip from #i2p where he explained that above quote in detail
