That's the idea, little cushion after the next release, little cushion before the one after that

It seems if I change the language in my router to something else than English /help stops working and throws a HTTP 500 IncompatibleClassChangeError. Is this known yet/can you reproduce?
zzz
nope, please enter a ticket
dr|z3d
did you build yourself, lbt?
lbt
No, this should be more-or-less vanilla routers what I used for testing
dr|z3d
does it throw an error irrespective of the language, or just for specific languages?
lbt
I only tested 2 tbh, but switching forth and back always made it work it with English and not with the other two
dr|z3d
try german or russian perhaps.
dr|z3d
iirc, those should have separate help.jsi files, but it's been a while since I looked.. we do things differently in + these days.
lbt
Does happen with german too
lbt
I'm too afraid to try russian due to the (assumed) cyrillics ;)
lbt
File it as git.idk.i2p/i2p-hackers/i2p.i2p/-/issues/496
zzz
please add full version info and steps to reproduce
lbt
Done
zzz
what debian version?
lbt
stable
zzz
where did you get the debian package? from our debian repo?
lbt
Ya, deb.i2p.net
zzz
thx. looks like a build issue, will have to do a little more research and then discuss with eyedeekay
lbt
thx4caring :)
zzz
root cause: jetty did something extremely foolish
dr|z3d
would probably be a lot easier if we just bundled our own jetty.
zzz
this is debian
zzz
can't
dr|z3d
to quote orignal, "come on!"
dr|z3d
I got a new phrase for you, orignal.. "come off it!"
zzz
sure we can do whatever but in the hopes of somehow finding a new maintainer let's not violate the standards
dr|z3d
we could just do what Tor does with their tor browser package, more likely a maintainer would be found with that in play.
dr|z3d
basically just an install script for the standard installer.
dr|z3d
reduced maintenance burden, less code to maintain, no waiting for PPA to build targets.
dr|z3d
nothing to maintain, then, just need someone to introduce the package to debian/ubuntu and whatever other distro's repo.
dr|z3d
to accomodate existing .deb users, we could include a (semi-automated) migration process.
zzz
unfortunately we'll have to add a 3rd launchpad build (jammy) to fix it, I'll work on the doc updates, heads up eyedeekay

Ack just got back from brunch with Savvy catching up on the scrollback
