Is there any data/info on the performance of i2p 2.0?
zzz
lolwut thunderbird now has irc ?!?!
zzz
anybody tried it?
mesh
zzz: hey, was wondering, is there any data on the performance benefits of i2p 2.0?
zzz
CPU or speed or bandwidth or?
mesh
zzz: anything I guess. I'm trying to sell the work required to do an upgrade sooner rather than later
zzz
the ssu2 blog post linked in the console and on our website should answer your questions but tl;dr unlikely to be measurable for most setups
mesh
btw thunderbird is in my experience pretty terrible. but at some point I remember them really, truly, this time separating from firefox and promising to become better... blog.thunderbird.net/2020/01/thunderbirds-new-home
mesh
it's too bad. would be nice to have a good, open-source, rich-client email and irc and rss client. but there's likely no profit in such a venture
mesh
there's alwqays emacs of course if you're willing to learn a new os

I have tried it a while ago geti2p.net/en/docs/applications/irc#thunderbird there are definitely better IRC experiences IMO but no accounting for taste
RN
what what? Didn't notice IRC in T-bird... I was recently advised to switch from t-bird to some alternate I don't recall just now;...
