`: What do you use for file sharing, or did you give up on it? I stopped using RetroShare a while back because it constantly crashed and I dislike GUI programs to begin with, but it did have a lot of movies and such available which are hard to find elsewhere if one wants to be anonymous. It does look like the newer version crashes less (I can at least delete mail without a crash).

Retroshare could be built with no GUI AFAIK.

fidoid: There is supposedly a JSON API and web interface, although the latter requires a JavaScript-capable browser. However, I could not figure out how to compile support for that. If you compile it properly, there is supposed to be an option in 'Preferences' of the GUI to set up the JSON API and web interface, but the options do not show up. I do not think that there is a way to compile the current

version of RetroShare without any GUI at all and get access to the JSON API, since you need to enable it in the GUI apparently.
